Update
So this weekend will be hectic. Tonight will be the most relaxing I'm sure. Tonight is a bonfire and birthday party so I am sure I will be able to drown out some stress. Then tomorrow morning we will be leaving to go to Grandma's. The kids will enjoy the little fair there. Then next week starts the big festival here.
On a side note, I'm so frustrated with Pando it's not even funny.

Captured Moments
One class I wish I had taken in school is photography. Sometimes I get so discouraged with the way my pictures turn out. I wish I had that gift to make any moment look beautiful. Some people just now exactly what angle to grab. Maybe it has to do with lenses too.
But my photos have improved quite a bit, I must say. I credit my Sony Mavica digital camera for that. Especially because it has programming effects where I can change the style of picture I want to take. I can tell the camera to make the images black and white before I take them. Or I can capture sepia toned photos. I can also add a little fun to it and make them negative art forms or solarize.
Sure, there is software out there that can change the outcome of your photos. But I sure do like the option of just snapping the picture the way I want it on the camera and printing it off, without having to manipulate it first.
I am so glad to have the options of digital photography. How would I do my digital scrapbooking without it? We all know my addiction to digi scraps! And with my memory stick, I can take hundreds of pictures at a time without having to change disks or film.
Plus I don't have to print off an entire roll of film. If there is an image I don't want, I can delete it.
I bow to the people that invented the digital camera! I am always snapping pictures of the girls. The photos end up being a daily journal of their lives since I use it so much. And I don't have to grab a seperate camera to do video now either. I can capture it all one one!
One day I hope to have a Canon 40D SLR camera to take my digital photography to new heights! It's good to have dreams, right? It's even better to capture them!

I hate being sick.
I started my day off with a headache yesterday. Took 2 sinus excedrin. About an hour later, took a vicodin. And then a 2nd. By about 2 I was feeling pretty whoozy. I could hardly hold my head straight and it was still pounding. Decided to go lay down only to jump back up about an half hour later and bow to the porcelain God. Let's see how today goes. So far, I have taken 1 sinus excedrin.

1 tequila, 2 tequila, 3 tequila, floor!
I am not even certain I would last that long. To the third shot that is. Especially if we aree doing shots. Maybe Margarita's, but I can not slam too many tequila shots with salt and lime.
But seriously, have you noticed that more and more people are drinking tequila these days? It's become more popular than vodka! And how about one of the newest brands, Voodoo Tiki Tequila which comes in a variety of different flavors and strengths.
I personally am very eager to try their flavor infused blue kiwi tequila! How good does that sound? Any volunteers to hold my hair?
Shannon and I are supposed to get together this weekend. I am thinking we will be trying out some new tequila while we stumble around the internet. Maybe we will even play spin the bottle for old times sake while we are registering our bottles! HAHA. Or even better yet, we can attend Tequila University and earn our degree! If those ten different flavor infused tequila's are as good as they sound, I will be needing that degree!

In case you missed it...
Here is the video of the Force/Bernstein crash @ Fall Nationals. Thankfully, this was not a fatal crash. But it certainly could have been.
Is it wrong that I am thankful Craig was not involved? Since he is family and all..
This is a long video but well worth the time, if you missed the race. I have to say, I am glad I was not at this one.

Setting up shop...
Niki and I have been talking about setting up our stores on our domains. This has lead me to do some looking around the internet to see just what it will take. One thing I know I will definitely need is a reliable, secure shopping cart software to use.
Since all this HTML stuff is still a bit confusing for me, I am trying to keep things as uncomplicated as possible for myself. However, I do know that there are a few MUST-HAVE's for my own peace of mind.
One of the biggest things for me is the shopping cart software must accept Paypal as a form of customer payment. This is the online payment system I am most comfortable with receiving payments though.
Another big requirement I have is customization. I want to be in control of how my shopping cart looks. I do not want to be restricted by templates. I like things to feel personalized.
And of course, AFFORDABLE! That is a huge one. It must be affordable, yet offer technical support. Because I am certain to mess something up along the way. I always do!
Ashop Commerce offers a shopping cart software with all of these features and more! Their ecommerce software helps merchants reach the top of search engines which means you will have more traffic. And of course, the more traffic you have, the more potential sales you will make.
So it sounds like Ashop Commerce is the total package when it comes to ecommerce software. You can manage your website and online business all at once!

Bleh
Today was a rough day. I worked on my challenge for Stand Up and Scrap. I did my best to not let myself think too much about things. I did a great job at that most of the day. Then this afternoon I got a phone call and it all came crashing down. The conversation during the call related indirectly to my LO. After I hung up, I broke down.
Why?
Why?
How about a little extra spending cash?
I know our budget sure could use a little extra padding, how about yours? If you are reading this, then you are obviously familiar with blogging, and possibly even have a blog of your own. Am I correct?
Have you answered yes to both questions now? Are you nodding?
Are you aware that you can get paid for blogging? Yes, you absolutely can! You see, advertisers have become aware of how popular blogs are today. And with so many people blogging, and reading blogs, it is a whole new world for them. Well, not really. Companies have been advertising on blogs for a while now. I guess I was just skeptical to believe you could actually blog for money. We all know the saying, "If it sounds too good...". I guess that is where my thought process was coming from.
After a good friend of mine had been contracted with a company for a while, and I saw that the was actually getting paid to write her own opinion or review on a site, product or service, I became more interested.
Then I signed up for a very reputable service that offers me opportunities to make money online. The great thing about this service is they allow me to make my own decisions. There is no pressure. I get to pick and chose what is right for me. They give me information about an advertiser who is hiring people to advertise on blogs with all the specifics. I review the information and decide whether or not I would like to take advantage of the opportunity given to me.
I only give my honest opinion too. Which I think is very important! I do not want to lead my friends astray with bad information. So I review the information from the advertiser and then tell all of you exactly what I think about it. It could also be a product review from time to time, which can be fun.
If you would like to earn some extra money for the holidays, give this blogging for money thing a try. What do you have to lose? The registration process was quick and easy. And they will even send you your earning via Paypal! Which I absolutely love because it is so fast. And when I have money in Paypal, I can go shopping for digital scrapbooking goodies! It's a win-win situation for me!
Check it out, I'm sure you won't be disappointed that you did!

*Gasp*
Did you all hear about the Funny Car crash at Fall Nationals? John Force and Kenny Bernstein had a horrific wreck. That is one thing I personally worry about everytime I watch my loved ones race down the track. Fortunately, Kenny was not injured and John's injuries were not fatal. Although, he is pretty banged up.
My prayers are with both families. Obviously John's due to his injuries. But also with Kenny's because they must have been HORRIFIED as they watched on.
I just can not imagine.

Let's save some money!
You know, with my dad traveling all the time for business, you would think he would want to take advantage of saving money on travel expenses when he can. I keep telling him there are places on the internet where he can save money on hotel reservations, airfare and car rentals.
Some sites, like
even offer vacation package savings. And you can book your flights, rental car, hotel, everything right through them. So you don't have to jump around from one site to another making reservations. It can all be taken care of in one place.
If you call the hotel or airline direct to make your reservation, or book your flight, you are going to pay full price. Unless, of course, of you are an AARP or AAA member. Then you may see some savings. But with a travel discount site, you get competitive rates with huge savings over direct bookings.
offer great discounts on world wide destinations. Whether you are booking a resort, motel or hotel reservation, they can offer you huge savings.
There are other travel discount sites out there too, but this is the one I find to be the most consistant. Like I said, their rates are competitive with other discount sites and yet, much cheaper than direct bookings. Not only that, if you find a cheaper rate on another site, with the exact same travel dates and hotel, you can contact them within 24 hours of your reservation and they will confirm the rate with the other site. Upon confirmation, they will either match the competitors rate or cancel your reservation without a cancellation fee, whichever you chose.
They even have special offers from time to time like Gas Rebates!! I know that personally, with the gas prices today, we are hesitant to take any vacations. But if you can take advantage of an offer like that, what are you losing?
Dad was certainly happy with his "Special Internet Rate" he got for our recent vacation. I guess seeing is believing!

This site had so many cool patterns, I had to start a Kaboodle just to keep track of everything I want. haha.

The rollercoaster of dieting..
Some of the women and I were talking at gymnastics the other night about the roller coaster of dieting. You lose weight, then put it all back on, and sometimes you even put on more than your originally began with. Then you try another diet, lose weight and again put it all back on.
One of the ladies there was a grandparent of the little gymnast. As an older woman, she said she is unable to lose weight no matter what. She is at the point that she can't really much exercising and her weight is actually settling into her legs. No amount of dieting has helped her. She has tried everything short of weight loss surgery.
Some of the other women told about people they knew who had went through weight loss surgery and now are much healthier and have improved their quality of life.
One of them is going to bring information next week for some support groups for her to join. Hopefully she will find a way to feel better about herself soon.

YUMMMMM
I'm sure if you know me, you know by now that one of my favorite things to do is COOK! Might explain the Pampered Chef thing huh?! If not...SURPRISE! LOL
Yeah, cooking is one of my favorite hobbies. Which is actually hilarious since I can recall when I first got married, I hated cooking! Did not want anything to do with it, lol. Yeah... we have done a 180 there.
Anywho..one of my favorite shows to listen to (I don't always get to sit down and watch it...so mostly I listen while doing other things) is Rachael Ray. Well I found a super yummy looking meal on there the other day and I had to share it here.
Soon I will add a recipe section to my domain site so I can keep these things all organized, lol.
But for now here it is...
First we have "Buying in Bulk" Pot Roast
Ingredients
3 to 4 tablespoons canola oil
1 4 to 5-pound rump roast
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
3 tablespoons flour, plus enough to dredge the roast in
3 carrots, roughly chopped
4 stalks of celery, roughly chopped
2 large onions, roughly chopped
6 cloves of garlic, chopped
2 fresh bay leaves
3 cups water
3 tablespoons butter
3 to 4 cups beef stock
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
A handful of parsley, chopped, for garnish
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Heat a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat with the canola oil. Season all sides of the roast well with salt and freshly ground black pepper then dredge it in flour. Brown the roast well, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Once all sides are brown, add the carrots, celery, onion, garlic, fresh bay leaves to the pot, and fill it with water so the liquid comes 1/3 the way up the roast. Cover with a tight-fitting lid and place in the oven for about 3 1/2-4 hours. If you don't have a tight-fitting lid for the pot, use tin foil instead and baste the roast every 30-40 minutes.
Once the roast is about a half hour away from being done, start your gravy: Place a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Melt the butter and stir in 3 tablespoons of flour. Cook the butter-flour mixture about 2-3 minutes, until it is light brown. Then, whisk in the beef stock, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce, season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Let the gravy cook down, whisking occasionally, until desired consistency.
Once the roast is done, remove it from the oven and place the meat on a cutting board, loosely covered with foil. Let the roast rest for about 15-20 minutes. While the meat is resting, strain the pan juices through a fine strainer, remove any extra fat, then stir the pan juices into the gravy.
Once the meat has rested, slice it across the grain and pour gravy over each portion. Garnish with parsley and serve with Oven-Roasted Spicy Potatoes & Glazed Carrots alongside.
Followed by Oven Roasted Spicy Potatoes and Glazed Carrots
Ingredients
For the potatoes:
5 pounds red potatoes
A palmful garlic powder
A palmful of onion powder
A palmful of dried parsley
A palmful of dried rosemary
A palmful of dried thyme
Extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO), to coat the potatoes
Salt and lots of freshly ground black pepper
For the carrots:
3 to 4 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup water
2 28-ounce bags (the large ones) of frozen carrots
1/2 cup honey
Dash of curry powder
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400ºF.
Remove carrots from freezer and let them come to room temperature. Cut potatoes in half and place them on a large baking sheet or roasting pan. Add all of the spices to a small bowl and mix to create a seasoning mixture (keep the leftovers in a well-sealed container for a later use).
Coat the potatoes with EVOO then sprinkle with the spice mixture. Toss the potatoes so the EVOO and spices are distributed evenly. Roast for about 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
While potatoes are roasting, place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add butter to the skillet and let melt. Add the water, thawed carrots, honey and curry powder to the butter and stir to coat the carrots in the butter. When they're heated through, they are ready to serve.
Serve the roasted potatoes and glazed carrots alongside Rachael's "Buying In Bulk" Pot Roast.

Insurance leads can be hard to find...
As an Insurance Agent, I can certainly tell you how difficult it can be at times to find leads at times. Especially if you are an independent insurance agent. If you are hooked up with a broker, you have better odds, but that is not always easy to do.
With the competitiveness of rates, and advertising of big agencies, your hunt for leads can be extremely challenging. To be a player, you need to have experience in insurance marketing.
Everyone needs insurance. It's all about who offers the best policy and quote.

Bleh
I forgot I had some bananas that were getting pretty ripe sitting on the table before we left for vacation. Well, I remember after we had been on the road for about 1/2 hour already.
So yeah! I now have an infestation of fruit flies. And they are driving me NUTS!
Anyone know how to get rid of these pesty things?

Get the scoop first...
Do you like to know if a restaurant is good before you try it out? I know I like to check with others to see if they have tried new places out before I go there when possible. I just hate it when I order a meal and my expectations far exceeded what what on my plate.
I found a place to voice my opinion of places I have visited. And we all know that is one thing I am good at... voicing my opinion! HAHA.
Whether I go to London restaurants or a bar in Ohio, I can make recommendations and share my thoughts on the place, as well as read others opinions. It's good to know what kind of place you are going to before you go.
So if you are going to London, or any other place in the world for that matter, share your reviews on your favorite places to visit!

A few pics from the vaca...
I will post more later... but here are a few pics from the vacation! YAY.

These were taken at the playground right by the staging lanes, under the bleachers. You can easily see why this is one of my favorite tracks! The kids LOVE it!
And a huge congrats to Karma Hopper for her win as Points Champion!

Will you shop on Black Friday?
Are you ready for Black Friday? I was just thinking about it and realizing it is just around the corner. That is one day I simply dread going shopping.
The rush of people trying to snag the best deals. It seems more and more people are getting hurt now days too. The news is always reporting on how there was a stampede due to the advertised sales and people were injured. I'm just waiting for the day all the stores have to pay the police to come help with traffic control at their doors or within their store because it has all gotten out of hand.
I refuse to go to the mall, or even into the city on Black Friday. It's just too insane for me.
Instead, I sign up for the Black Friday ads via email for the stores I frequent. When I see something I want to snag from the sale, I just order it online and avoid all the stress of the crowds at the store. So much easier that way!
Plus, since I do not want to go to the city during the chaos, I miss out on the great BF Kohl's sales and Best Buy deals. Thanks to the internet, I don't have to miss out anymore! I can save some serious money by doing my Christmas shopping on BF, all online. Oh yeah, I am loving that option!
No standing in long lines, yay! No carts being rammed into me, double yay! People get vicious, I'm telling ya!
I get email alerts when new Black Friday ads are posted, so I can plan ahead for my spending. That is a bonus! When I would go to the stores to find the sales, usually I didn't have much advance notice on what would be discounted. Now I can budget for my holiday spending. So much better that way!
I will be able to take advantage of Kohl's specials all online and have my purchases delivered right to my door. Does it get any better than that?
Oh wait, it does! I signed up for all of my favorite stores Black Friday ads all on one site! So yeah, it does get better. I don't have to spend a bunch of time going to various websites to sign up! Besides, we all know you don't normally get a peek at the 'Day After Thanksgiving Sale' ads until the circulars in your newspaper come out the week of Thanksgiving. Guess what! I already know some of the items that will be on special this year at Kohl's! Planning ahead is a good thing!! Now I have several weeks to budget for my purchases.

We're back!
We had such a blast this weekend... I wanna go back! :)
I have missed going so bad. Now I do not ever wanna miss another one. It was so much fun.
It was a little bit cold at times and we forgot our heater, bleh! Luckily we were able to borrow one from Shannon or we would have froze at night. Thursday and Sunday the weather was good.. nice and sunny. Friday was not too bad. But Saturday was cool.
I can still hear the sounds of the motor reving in my ears, lol.
More on all that later... with pics and maybe even some vids.

New York vacation
I'm getting really excited about my POSSIBLE vacation to New York City. Crystal and I would have such a blast together!! I sure hope everything works out so I can go.
There are so many things to do in New York City, I can not imagine taking the time to sleep. HAHA. The NYC Nightlife looks amazing. Can you just imagine the clubs there? Oh yeah, we will be all over that! We will be dancing until we can no longer stand up. And I am not even sure that will stop us.
And the food, oh my goodness. The NYC Restaurants that I have found information on in the NYC Dining Guide look so good!
The Martiniboys.com website has been very helpful in providing information for traveling to the city. It's like a little black book containing all the coolest clubs to go to or restaurants to eat at. And it does not end there! They even have the best of the best places to SHOP! And you know I will be doing lots of that while I am there!
It's always good to have the inside scoop before traveling to a place you have never been to. You can find information for your next trave expedition with the Toronto Dining Guide.
I'm sure we will have an amazing time, as long as the trip works out.

Don't you wish your vacations were hot like mine...
LMAO...ok, I will stop!

Teach your children to have goals
I like to find good sites with parenting tips. I wanted to share with you one that I have found to be very helpful. The Resources Center, which is an educational outreach of Kamaron Institute, offers parenting tips for helping your child set and reach goals.
They suggest 9 simple steps to teach your child to set and reach goals for themselves. By allowing the girls to set their own small, attainable goal, I can reinforce this valuable skill in their lives. Plus, I will also be building their self confidence, which I feel is extremely important as a parent. They need encouragement!
As I was checking this site out, I found what I think is my favorite article so far! It's an article about your sense of humor keeping your sanity intact. Have I not claimed this to be true for years? You have to go check this article out. Kids say the funniest things!!!

To the left...to the left...
I caught a little bit of the History Channels special on the 9/11 Conspiracy Theory. That was interesting. Well, lets say interesting to find out that so many believe that 9/11 was an inside job. I did not by one bit of what I watched. Not one theory they explained. Nope. I do not believe our government had anything to do with the fall of the towers, the crash of flight 93 nor the attack on the Pentagon.
CRAZINESS! It's almost offensive to know that our own people could think this was possible.
Eh.

It's a matter of life...
As a licensed Insurance Agent, I can tell you the importance of having a life insurance policy on yourself! That was one of the biggest concerns I had with becoming a stay-at-home mommy. I would no longer have my employer life insurance policy. So I had to ensure I had a policy somewhere.
I researched the options that were available to me extensively. I looked at Whole Life Insurance Policy Rates that were available to me. Whole Life is the policy that will provide you life insurance for your entire life. The rates for this type of coverarge are generally more expensive than cheaper term policies however, these rates will never change! They will not increase over time and your policy will never expire. Plus, you can cash in your policy should you ever find yourself in emergency need of cash! Or even if you decide to cancel your policy at some point.
What is there to lose with a money back life insurance policy? Should you decide to cancel your coverage, you get all of the premiums you paid in back, without them taking taxes out! It is certainly something worth looking into!

Please help!
This is a friend of mine's husband. We are hoping if enough people contact authorities, it may make a difference. I am asking you to please help. Also, please pass this on to anyone you can think of! Embed it in your blogs, etc. I just can't stand the fact that this poor child is going through this..

Mandated tutoring
Since last year was the third year in a row that our school has not had passing ISTEP percentages, they have need to make some drastic changes. I truly believe this is why there have been so many personnel changes this year. We received a letter regarding all the requirements they have to meet now. They still have to provide transportation for our kids to attend one of the two other schools in our county that did pass, if we so wish. And the kids will be allowed to attend that school until they enter middle school even if our school does bring their scores up.
Another requirement is they have to provide tutoring to certain groups of students. I am thinking it will take an innovative tutor to help this school bring their scores up. They certainly need to do something quickly or they will not get funding. Perhaps tutoring will give these kids the individual instruction they need. It certainly would help, I am sure.
The school will be doing screenings during the first part of the school year to find out exactly who needs the extra help. So we wait to hear now.

Listening to the radio
I'm sitting here talking to Niki and listening to the radio. This guy on here is cracking me up!! He is telling this 'true story' about how he took a red-eye flight to Cincinnati 3 years ago. He gets to the airport to board the plane and when he gets in line he notices Jessica Simpson standing directly in front of him. So making conversation, he says "are you going to Cincinnati?". She gives him attitude and says "No! Why would I be going to Cincinnati?" So he responds with "oh, I'm sorry! I just thought maybe you were going to visit your husband (she was married to Nick at the time who had a place in Cincinnati). I'm a stand up comic and I met your husband one night. We hung out and had a great time. He is a really nice guy." She says "Sure you met my husband" and turns her back to him. lol@that attitude.
So when they are getting off the plane, he has an upset stomach from the greasy airport food and feels a burst of gas ready to erupt... and guess who is standing directly behind him? Oh yeah!! He got his revenge, lmao!
Ok, so maybe you had to hear the guy tell it. It was freaking hilarious.

With the holiday season quickly approaching, I need to seriously make some extra cash to ensure the kids have goodies. Therefore, I did a little more reading tonight and found another great site that allows you to make money online.

Driving nude is the trend?
I was talking with my mom a little bit ago. She said we had yet ANOTHER case of a nude driver in the area. This one took it a little further though. LMAO!
Supposedly, this nude driver got out of his van (with ladder on top) and approached a mailcarrier who was making her route deliveries. The mailcarrier screamed and rolled her window up. The man returned to his van and took off.
Police have a good description and are looking for the guy. This is CRAZINESS!!

Election Coverage 2008
Well it has officially begun. The Presidential Election Campaign 2008 is officially underway.
I was reading in the latest news at business blog gimmiethescoop.com about the 2008 Republican Presidential Candidates. I found some interesting tidbits about the candidates to share with you. Were you aware the Rudy Giuliani has been married three times. The first of which was to his second cousin? Hmm.. something about that grosses me out. The story goes on to say he then got his marriage annuled after starting an affair with another woman the same year. Morals in check here people? He married this woman and had 2 children. The 18 year marriage ended after accusations surfaced of yet another affair Guiliani had. Guarav Bhola also said Rudy's 2 children are estranged from their father and not involved in the election. Wow...that threw up some red flags for me. How about you? Do we want a repeat of "I did not have sex with that woman"?
Guess what? It appears he may not have been the only candidate to have an affair either. Bhola reports John McCain also left his first wife after meeting his current wife.
I'm not saying that I would not vote for one of these candidates, and yet, I am not saying I would. I have yet to make my decision. There are many factors to consider here. But I thought I would share the news I read on this with the rest of you.
Also, I found a fun little gadget on the news blog website while I was there. I will be posting a widget in my sidebar to keep track of the latest internet election polls. Be sure to check it out.

Weekend...
We went to another auction this weekend. It was mostly a joke. People were paying high $ for stuff that was not worth anything!! Cracked us up as we watched them snatching stuff up. Of course, they were all worried about us and what we were going to bid on because 85% of the people there know us from other auctions and know what we do, etc. HAHA. Yeah, we did not have any interest in that crap!
I did get a press! YAY. Yes, a huge press for pressing clothes, etc. There were a couple of other things (non-computer related) I was interested in, but I was not paying huge money for them like some people were. It was pathetic!
In other news, I am getting a serger from Niki!! YAY. Thank you gurlie :).

Electronic signatures
Since I am developing my own website and may be getting a Tablet soon, I was reading some information on electronic signatures. I found there is a company called eSign that offers three different solutions for electronic signatures on documents.
The first would be the common "Click to Agree" signature. This allows you to electronically sign a document by simply clicking the agreement.
The next option is an Electronic Signature Pad. This is like what you see in most retail stores.
The third option is a Tablet PC. With a Tablet PC, you use a digital pen and sign your name directly on the screen.
The electronic signature solutions are perfect for electronic mortgage signing. Borrowers can sign their mortgage agreement either in the lenders office, or anywhere they can get access to the internet. How is that for versatility?
Digital signatures are just as safe and binding as the traditional paper documents. The integrity is secure regardless of electronic signature method used. Plus Encomia's software locks an encrypted digital stamp to each signature to prevent any tampering or altering of the documents.
